The Wyoming County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is seeking candidates to fill the position of administrative assistant/office manager. This is a full time position and will answer to the Board of Directors. Pay commensurate with experience. Duties include but are not limited to fiscal management of the office, fund raising, and marketing. Office experience a must with knowledge of social media a plus. We are hiring!
Wyoming County CVB has an immediate position open for an Office Administrator.
Applicant must have good computer skills, social media knowledge and capability, self motivated (someone who doesn't need micro-managed when given tasks). High energy person who is excited about growing local tourism and community involvement, a huge plus.
Job currently is 20 hours a week @ $12.00 an hour.

"In 2020, the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System sold nearly 65,000 trail permits, which represents the highest number of annual permits ever sold, and the system’s 20th consecutive year of growth in ridership. Despite an eight-week closure due the COVID-19 pandemic, permit sales still saw a 15% lift over 2019 sales."

Seeking Community Involvement! (Please Share!!!)

As 2020 begins to wrap up, we at the CVB are looking ahead to 2021 and the future of tourism in Wyoming County. As such, we are seeking motivated members of the community looking to serve on our board of directors. Board positions are volunteers and do NOT receive compensation. This would be at least a 2 year commitment as our board members serve 2 year terms. Board members attend monthly meetings at our office in Pineville and help set the direction of the organization. Outside of meetings, board members may be asked to serve on subcommittees, attend other meetings, help plan events, and generally help further the mission of the CVB. We are planning to return to our normal meeting schedule in November.

The CVB is tasked with attracting tourism to Wyoming County through a variety of means. Pursuant to WV Code 7-18-14 - "The Legislature hereby finds and declares that in order to attract new business and industry to this state and to retain existing business and industry all to provide the citizens of the state with economic security and to advance the business prosperity and economic welfare of this state, it is necessary to enhance recreational and tourism opportunities. Therefore, in order to promote recreation and tourism, the Legislature finds that public financial support should be provided for constructing, equipping, improving, and maintaining projects, agencies, and facilities which promote recreation and tourism."
