On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Bell County Deputies traveled to 410 27th Street in Middlesboro to apprehend 37-year-old Tina Mullins wanted on an outstanding warrant. While apprehending Mullins inside the residence, suspected Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were seen in plain view. An individual living in the home was asked and gave consent to search the residence.

Tina Mullins was found inside and was secured while Detective Hunter Luttrell obtained a search warrant. Found during the ex*****on of the search warrant were multiple baggies of a white crystal substance believed to be Methamphetamine, scales, baggies regularly used for packaging, pipes with reside, needles capped and uncapped with residue, and cash consistent with trafficking in narcotics.

The Middlesboro Police Department K-9 did an open air search of residence finding additional suspected Methamphetamine.

In total, five other people were inside the residence, all with control and access to the suspected narcotics.

They were identified as 18-year-old Chloe Gibson, 37-year-old Britney Russell, 49-year-old Randy Thacker, 57-year-old Charlie Meyers.

All five were charged with trafficking in controlled substance – 1st degree, 1st offense (greater than 2 grams – Methamphetamine), buying/possessing drug paraphernalia, and engaging in organized crime – criminal syndicate. Tina Mullins was additionally served with her outstanding warrant.

All individuals were transported and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.

Deputy Adam Smith is in charge of this case.

On Monday, May 18, 2026, A multi-agency arrest and search warrant was executed at Howard's Market and 57-year-old Jeff Howard's residence near Pathfork in reference to illegal logging and timber theft. During the search, Howard and the residents at the home were charged with 33 counts of animal cruelty (20 Yorkie dogs and 13 cats).

Jeff Howard was additionally charged with theft by unlawful taking over $10,000, but under $1,000,000, after estimated damages of $510,300 for unlawfully entering property after being declined permission and proceeding to log on the property. He was also charged with criminal tresspassing - 2nd degree.

Assisting in multiple locations were the Harlan Sheriff's Department, Knox County K-9, Kentucky State Police, Middlesboro Police Department, Pineville Police Department and other agencies.

This investigation is continuing and more charges are pending.

Early Wednesday, May 13, 2026, Bell County Deputies were attempting to serve Bell and Laurel County warrants on 39-year-old Ova Brandon Collett of Pineville at a residence on Highway 92.

Collett fled the scene and was later identified as the driver that endangered Bell County highway department workers almost striking them while he sped away from deputies. While traveling at speeds over 100mph, Sgt. Austin Poindexter terminated the pursuit of Collett for safety concerns.

Later Wednesday evening deputies went to apprehend Collett for endangering the welfare of highway workers and Fleeing. Unknown to the deputies was that Collett’s vehicle had been parked behind the residence. As Sgt. Jody Risner walked around the corner of the home he heard the vehicle and saw Collett swerve in his direction putting the deputy in extreme risk of death and serious physical injury. Sgt. Risner was able to move out of the way with no serious injuries, but Collett continued in the direction of K-9 Deputy Keith Fuson with K-9 Steve.

Deputies then fired at Collett causing him to divert from striking the K-9 and he struck a fence line. Collet left the scene at a high rate of speed. His vehicle was found a short distance from the residence on Short Branch Road. He fled the vehicle into a wooded area. There is no evidence suggesting that Collett was injured during the incident.

Inside the vehicle deputies found suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia along with an air pistol with no orange tip and a machete. The Bell County Sheriff’s Department utilized K9 Steve and their drone with forward-looking infrared (FLIR) and was unable to locate Collett.

Bell dispatch requested assistance from other agencies. The Pineville Police Department assisted on scene while the Kentucky State Police assisted by covering calls for the Bell Sheriff’s Office.

The Bell County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to search for Collett. He is described as a white male, 6’1”, 231 lbs, with short dark brown hair and wears glasses. Any information concerning his whereabouts should be reported to the Bell County Sheriff’s Office at (606)-337-6174.

On Monday, April 27, 2026, Deputies with the Bell County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt Austin Poindexter and Detective Hunter Luttrell executed a federal arrest warrant on 39-year-old Patrick Gregory of Middlesboro, Ky.

The charges stem from a joint drug trafficking investigation between Appalachia Narcotics Investigations and the DEA.

Patrick Gregory is being held in the Laurel County Detention Center - no bond allowed.

On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Bell County Deputies assisted the Parole and Probation office in executing a search warrant at the Doris Caroll Lane residence of 27-year-old Cameron Collins in Pineville.

The search revealed approximately 68 grams of Methamphetamine, 3 grams of He**in/Fentanyl, 8 rifles, 7 pistols, multiple drug paraphernalia (including baggies, scales, and syringes).

Collins was not apprehended at the time, but was also wanted by KSP in connection with another man - previously arrested - for cable theft in Frakes, Ky. on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

Collins fled the scene and had been on the run until Thursday, April 9th when he was apprehended at Happy Mart in Pineville by the Bell County Sheriff’s Department and US Marshals Service - Central Kentucky Fugitive Task Force London office.

Also assisting in his apprehension were Sgt Austin Poindexter, Sgt Jody Risner, K-9 Deputy Keith Fuson and K-9 Steve Deputy Chris Owens, Deputy Adam Smith, CSO Dylan Morris, Detective Hunter Luttrell and the Pineville Police Officer Curtis Pingleton.

Cameron Collins was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with being a fugitive from another state, (8) counts of convicted felon in possession of a firearm, (7) seven counts of convicted felon in possession of a handgun, buying/possessing drug paraphernalia, trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense (greater than 2 grams Methamphetamine), trafficking in a controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense (He**in), and trafficking in a controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense (Carfentanil or Fentanyl derivatives).
