Bell County Volunteer Fire Department Est 1979 by concerned citizens, the BCVFD has a Headquarters & Training Center and 8 Fire Stations Instructor Al Webb, is our Training Officer.

Established in 1979 by concerned citizens, the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., has a centralized Headquarters & Training Center and 8 Fire Stations serving the people of Bell County, Ky. The Department holds weekly training meetings on Thursday’s at 6:30pm. This training is for new recruits, serving volunteer firefighters and those returning to the fire service. Earning the status of

Certified Firefighter is through the Kentucky Fire Commission Certification Program. Our Department is proud to share we have our own, in-house State Certified Fire Instructors. Our Department is governed by the Board of Directors and the Board of Directors elects the President of our Department. The Board meets regularly each month.

The Bell County Volunteer Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident on 25E and 188. One occupant of the vehicle was taken to the hospital for injuries. Also responding was Bell County EMS, Bell County Sheriff's Department, Bell County Rescue Squad and Quality Towing.

The Bell County Volunteer Fire Department responded to an accident involving two motorcycles on Highway 66, Red Bird Mountain, on Pineville side. The two women passengers were airlifted for injuries. The extent of their injuries is unknown. Also responding was Bell County EMS and the Bell County Sheriffs Department.

The Bell County Volunteer Fire Department is having its yearly raffle. $5 per ticket or 5 tickets for $20. All proceeds are used to purchase equipment our firefighters need to respond to calls safely.

Around 5:30, the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department responded to a three vehicle accident with minor injuries on Highway 221 at Bradfordtown. Responding was the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department, Bell County Sheriffs Department, Bell County EMS. Highway 221 at Bradfordtown is now open.

Bell County Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to Casey's on 25E around 2:48 this morning due to a vehicle being on fire. The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries. Middlesboro Fire Department also responded and assisted with the fire.
