Pipe Creek may look peaceful now but about 2 weeks ago, it was anything but. ABK was extremely lucky not to have facility damage and construction crews are working hard to repair the grounds damage. Pipe Creek, Red Bluff Creek and Bessie's Creek all ran wild and look a lot different than before with all the rains. The nearest weather station recorded 13.5" of rain on July 15th alone!
Most of these pictures are from Pipe Creek that runs along the far west side of the park and out towards Pipe Creek, Texas. Some of the debris reached more than 12 feet up in the trees standing on the bottom of the new sandbars with the new channel running several feet below me.
Remember back on June 16th, I posted a picture of a waterhole filled from those rains? This time the waterhole ran over it's earthen dam which is almost 6 feet over the spillway.
As we clear the debris and construction crews try to get back on track, our affected neighbors and friends remain on our minds.
**Crews are working hard around the park to finish up construction. The park is not open to the public at this time. We will announce when the park will open as we get closer to completing construction.**
