🚒 Beautiful Day for Training in Plumstead Township! ☀️

It was a beautiful day for some hands-on Driver/Operator training with the Plumstead Township Fire & Rescue Department!

Today’s training focused on drafting, pumping operations, apparatus positioning, and water supply—critical skills that our members need to be prepared for when the call comes in. 💦🚒

Our Driver/Operators work hard to master the equipment and techniques necessary to establish a reliable water supply and keep our crews operating safely and effectively on the fireground.

Training like this doesn’t happen by accident. It takes dedication, teamwork, and a commitment to serving the residents of Plumstead Township.

🔥 Welcome to the Plumstead Township Fire and Rescue Department, Firefighter Harley Turner! 🇺🇸🚒

Today, we had the honor of welcoming Firefighter Harley Turner to the Plumstead Township Fire and Rescue Department during his swearing-in ceremony, administered by the Honorable Judge Jeffery G. Trauger.

Harley brings with him an impressive background of military service, public service, leadership, and more than a decade of volunteer firefighting experience.

🇺🇸 Harley is a United States Marine Corps veteran and has been serving his community in the fire service since joining the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company in 2013. Throughout his career, he has held numerous leadership positions, including Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief, and Trustee, helping lead emergency operations, firefighter development, and community outreach efforts.

Harley previously served with Warwick Township Public Works, responding to emergencies, maintaining critical infrastructure, and serving the community every day. He continues to volunteer with Warwick and Hilltown Fire Companies and recently completed his EMT certification.

His leadership, discipline, teamwork, and commitment to serving others have been demonstrated throughout both his military and fire service careers.

We are proud to have Harley join our team and look forward to the experience, leadership, and dedication he will bring to the Plumstead Township Fire and Rescue Department.

Today, members of the Plumstead Township Fire and Rescue Department participated in an ALS Assist Training class facilitated by Point Pleasant-Plumsteadville EMS.

A huge thank you to the Point Pleasant-Plumsteadville EMS team for providing a great and extremely beneficial training session. The opportunity to train together helps us better understand each other’s capabilities, strengthen communication, and ultimately provide better care to the residents we serve.

Building strong relationships and partnerships between our emergency service agencies is critical to providing a coordinated and effective response when our community needs us most.

Meet the Crew- Dan Pfeiffer
Dan has been a member of the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company since 2014 and currently serving as Battalion Chief. He is a Temple University graduate, a former Director of Operations for Temple University EMS, and previously served as a Firefighter and Fire Inspector with Warminster Township. Dan holds numerous fire and EMS certifications and has earned several awards recognizing his leadership and commitment to public service. Most importantly, his passion for serving the residents of Plumstead Township and supporting his fellow firefighters has been the foundation of his career

Meet the Crew- Ben Morris
Ben currently serves as Captain and EMT with the Doylestown Fire Company and is a Part-Time Firefighter/EMT with the Upper Moreland Township Fire Department. He is a graduate of West Chester University and recently worked as a Product Line Manager with Streamlight, while continuing to serve his community through the fire service. Ben holds numerous fire, rescue, and EMS certifications, including Firefighter I & II, Vehicle Rescue Technician, Swift Water Rescue Technician, and EMT. His dedication and professionalism have earned him recognition as both Rookie of the Year and 2025 Firefighter of the Year at Doylestown Fire Company.

We're proud to introduce the members of the Plumstead Township Fire and Rescue Department new career staff. Over the next several posts, we'll be highlighting each member so our community can get to know the people behind the uniform.

Meet the Crew- Firefighter Rachel Brick!
Rachel joined the fire service as a junior firefighter with the Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department at 16 years old. She has obtained multiple certifications including Firefighter 1&2, Vehicle Rescue Technician, and Rapid Intervention Team training. Rachel has been a volunteer firefighter with the Montgomery Township Fire Department since 2012. She has participated in multiple committees including bylaws, recruitment and retention, Explorer Post 18, and currently chairs the department's safety committee. Rachel currently serves as the department’s Health and Safety Officer and holds the rank of Lieutenant. Rachel also has a background in home health care and human resources.
