CONGRATS to Officer Elkadousy!
Officer Elkadousy Honored as Law Enforcement Officer of the Year
The Doylestown Post 175 Veterans of Foreign Wars presented Officer Elkadousy with the prestigious Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award for 2026 during the Township Meeting on April 8, 2026.

This esteemed recognition is a testament to Officer Elkadousy's exemplary courage, swift judgment, and life-saving actions. His outstanding performance in the line of duty has earned him this commendation, reflecting the highest standards of professionalism, preparedness, and service.

Officer Elkadousy's unwavering commitment to preserving life brings great credit to himself, the Plumstead Township Police Department, and the law enforcement profession as a whole. We are proud to have him serving our community.

A Big Welcome to Bill!
Ensuring the safety and well-being of our community remains Plumstead Township’s highest priority. We are excited to welcome William Wiegman as our new full-time Fire Chief and Fire Marshal. Bill will help lead the creation of the Plumstead Township Fire and Rescue Department, scheduled to begin operations in 2026. The Fire Chief serves as the senior officer responsible for the leadership, management, and administration of the Plumstead Township Fire and Rescue Department. This includes overseeing the weekday daytime paid fire staff, coordinating with volunteer fire companies, and ensuring effective emergency response, fire prevention, and community safety programs. The Fire Chief provides strategic direction, operational leadership, and administrative oversight to maintain a high level of preparedness, professionalism, and cooperation within the township. In addition to the operational role of Fire Chief, Bill will serve as the township Fire Marshal, performing fire inspections, reviewing land development proposals, and performing other related duties.

Bill comes to the township with a wealth of emergency services experience, having served as the full-time paid Fire Chief of Montgomery Township, PA. Bill is experienced in leading a paid fire service, community risk reduction and Emergency Management. He is a graduate of La Salle University and John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He is currently working to obtain his Doctorate in Public Administration. Bill teaches at the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center and the Pennsylvania Fire Academy. He comes to Plumstead Township with numerous certifications in fire services and incident command.

The newly formed fire department will provide comprehensive fire protection services, including rapid response to fire emergencies, critical medical assistance for high-priority calls, fire safety inspections, community education, and proactive fire prevention programs. Our team of paid firefighters will be available on weekdays and will work closely with our dedicated volunteer fire services to deliver exceptional protection for our residents.

We invite all residents to join us in supporting this important initiative. Together, we can build a safer, stronger Plumstead Township. Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to get involved as we launch this vital service for our community.
