Holiday Office Closure

Please note that our office will be closing at 1:30 PM today, Friday, September 4th, and will remain closed through the holiday weekend.

We will reopen on Tuesday, September 8th at 9:00 AM and will be ready to assist you then.

🎄❤️ Christmas is coming, and for many families in our community, a Christmas meal is not something they can take for granted.

As we prepare for the Christmas season at The Salvation Army, we are asking our community to help ensure that families have more than gifts under the tree—we want them to have a warm meal around the table, too.

We are currently seeking donations of nonperishable fruits, vegetables, and desserts, including canned green beans, corn, peas, carrots, canned fruit, applesauce, boxed cake or brownie mix, pie filling, and other shelf-stable holiday foods.

Please bring your donations to The Salvation Army, located at 129 South Wayne Street, during regular office hours, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations will be accepted through December 7 so we can prepare Christmas meals for families in time for the holiday.

For some families, your donation may be the difference between an empty table and a Christmas dinner.

It may be a can of green beans that completes the meal.
A can of fruit that gives a child something sweet.
A box of dessert that makes Christmas feel a little more like Christmas.

These are more than cans and boxes of food. They are reminders that someone cares. That their community has not forgotten them. That even during a difficult season, there is still hope. ❤️

If you are able, please pick up an extra item—or several—during your next grocery trip and bring it to The Salvation Army before December 7.

🎄❤️ Christmas Sign-Ups Are Right Around the Corner ❤️🎄

For some families, Christmas is a season filled with excitement and anticipation. For others, it can bring worry, stress, and the difficult question of how they will make Christmas special for their children.

That’s why we’re here. ❤️

Our Christmas Assistance Sign-Ups will be October 19–23. If your family needs a little extra help this Christmas, please know there is no shame in asking for help. We all go through seasons when we need someone to come alongside us, and we want you to know that our community cares.

☀️💙 THAT’S A WRAP ON SUMMER LUNCH! 💙☀️

Today was our last day of the Summer Lunch Program, and we finished strong by serving 205 meals, along with 615 take-home items to help provide food for the weekend.

And now for the number that makes us stop and say WOW… 🥹

🍎 15,656 meals served this summer! 🍎

15,656 opportunities to put food in a child’s hands.
15,656 times we got to say, “We’re glad you’re here.”
15,656 reminders that when a community comes together, we can make a difference. ❤️

To every volunteer who cooked, packed, served, drove the canteen, unloaded food, cleaned up, prayed, encouraged, and showed up—THANK YOU. You gave your time, your energy, and your heart.

To every church, organization, business, donor, and community member who supported this program—THANK YOU for believing that no child should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from.

And most importantly, to every child and family we had the privilege of serving this summer: Thank you for letting us be a small part of your summer. We hope you felt not only fed, but loved.
