One of our absolute favorite traditions, starting off the summer for our Shell Beach Elementary and Judkins Middle School students with Pizza on the Pier. This year they were treated to popsicles, handed out by the Chief, as well! A HUGE thank you to Del’s Pizzeria for the pizza!

📢 Pismo Beach Police Department Update

We’re excited to share that the Pismo Beach Police Department is officially moving back into our newly completed police station at 1000 Bello Street!
Beginning Monday, June 8th, all police operations — including Records and all in‑person police services — will be conducted at our Bello Street location. Our temporary site at 330 Main Street will no longer be used for police business.

The Records Department and lobby will be open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. And of course, our officers remain just a phone call away 24/7 if you need us.

We appreciate the community’s patience and support during our time away and look forward to serving you from our updated, permanent home.

Yesterday members of our team joined other local law enforcement agencies to run through downtown SLO for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. This run raises awareness and funds to support Special Olympics athletes, and it is our pleasure to be a part of it!

Today we take time to remember that freedom isn’t free. So many brave men and women have laid down their lives to ensure we are afforded the freedoms we enjoy. Our country is forever indebted to their sacrifice.

Thank you to all who took the time to join us for the Memorial Day ceremony at the Pier, and for those who contributed to making it happen.

Congratulations to Morro Bay Police Department on winning this years Battle of the Badges!

While we finished in 5th place this year, we were only 2 pints away from the 3rd place spot! Thank you to our community, PD staff, and City team for your generous donations that will make a difference to someone's life.

Overall, the Battle of the Badges blood drive generated 262 pints of blood. Well done, everyone!

Officer Cabandong came across a suspicious “collie mix” while patrolling the Pier parking lot today. Luckily he was able to quickly reunite them with their ‘ohana and avoid a stitchuation! 🌺 🌴

We hope you’re all enjoying your weekend! Remember to leash your pups, and no dogs are allowed on the pier.

National Police Week is a time to honor the many men and women all across our country who suit up each day (or night) to serve their communities. They never know what the shift might hold…. maybe they will get to make child’s day just by waving, or maybe they will have to show up and handle a call that would make anyone’s skin crawl.

The missed holidays, school functions, family events, dinner times, lunch breaks. The middle of the night call outs. The long days where you show up for someone on the worst day of their lives then immediately have to run to the next call and handle it with just as much empathy. We appreciate all that you do and your commitment to the community!

May 15th is Peace Officers Memorial Day and is a day when we remember all those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Their memories live on and we will never forget their sacrifice. 🖤💙🖤

We sincerely appreciate everyone who attended yesterday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Public Safety Facility. Your presence helped make the event truly special. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the Pismo Beach City Council for their continued support and investment in this much-needed facility. This new building marks a significant milestone for our department, providing us with the resources and space to expand and thrive well into the future. The wait for this facility has certainly been worthwhile, and we are excited for all the possibilities it brings.

We are still in the process of moving and will announce once that is complete and services are being provided at the new facility. In the meantime, our temporary lobby at 330 Main Street remains open.
