Big Boy K9 Maxx is turning 5 today. Time really flies when you’re having fun! It seems just like yesterday he walked into all our lives. K9 Maxx has been serving the residents of Pitcairn and Wilmerding,and outside departments now for almost 4 years. He definitely set the standards high serving as the first K-9 unit in our department. He has showed us that hard training and dedication pays off with many successful deployments. Stay safe out there buddy!

Company 229 was alerted to a reported residential structure fire this morning in the 306th district (Wilmerding). 229 Engine Quickly marked on the road with 4+2 and arrived providing 2nd and 3rd due engine assignments. Crews on scene worked on fire extinguishment and overhaul before clearing in about an hour and a half.

A lot of hard work goes into making this event happen, along with fire calls, training and our personal lives.
