Village of Pitsburg Snow Removal

A reminder to maintain safe driving conditions during a winter snow storm.

Here are some helpful guidelines for residents in case of snow accumulation:

At the onset of a snowstorm, once plowing of snow has begun, several passes will be made on each street to provide curb to curb clearing. Salt is applied to the streets to prevent icing.

Depending on the duration of a storm and the amount of snowfall, it may be necessary to repeat the plowing process.

When a snowfall stops, it takes the snow removal contractor hired by the Village approximately 2-4 hours to complete the snow-removal process village-wide.

DO NOT PARK CARS ON THE STREET, especially near intersections. (If at all possible, during an event). This impedes the snow removal process and causes vehicles to be plowed in.

Shovel snow to the right side of your driveway (when facing the street) to minimize the amount of snow entering your driveway.

Shovel and/or blow snow onto the curb, not into the street.

Your assistance during these types of snow events is very much appreciated.

Early Bird Newspaper – Update

Effective October 24, 2025, home delivery of the Early Bird Newspaper will be discontinued within the Village.

The Early Bird Newspaper will continue to be available in the box in front of the Post Office.
