Classified Ad – Maintenance Technician-WWTP
The Village of Pitsburg is seeking a contractor for basic wastewater technician, no experience needed.
This is a day shift position with some flexibility in working hours including on-call availability. The Certified Operator of Record will provide training as necessary. This position is a multi-functional role in the wastewater treatment process. The primary focus is making sure the equipment and processes used to treat the wastewater work as intended. The technician should have some level of mechanical ability and will be trained to have a thorough understanding of the treatment process to assure it works safely and properly. The technician will be responsible for daily tasks as assigned by the Certified Operator for the wastewater plant. These tasks would include inspecting equipment and machinery, performing basic maintenance for equipment, being on-site to direct outside contractors for more involved maintenance operations, monitoring meters and gauges and recording their readings, provide periodic checks and basic maintenance at the lift stations, and collecting/testing water samples. Specific duties in these processes can vary.
