Pitts Fire Rescue and the City of Pitts would like to sincerely thank everyone who donated to the relief efforts for the Brantley County fire.

Today, we were able to deliver supplies and support those on the ground. We had the opportunity to see our very own Clark Rountree and spend a little time with him, and then continued on to drop off a load at Brantley Gas. While there, we also met some of the families who have been displaced by the fire.

Please continue to keep all of the first responders and the families affected in your prayers during this time. Your generosity and support truly made a difference. ❀️πŸ”₯

STATEWIDE BURN BAN – ZERO TOLERANCE

Right now, Georgia is under a mandatory burn ban due to extreme drought and rapidly spreading wildfires. Homes have already been lost, families displaced, and fires are still actively burning across South Georgia.

πŸ”₯ Let us be very clear:
NO OUTDOOR BURNING OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED.
That includes:

* Pine straw
* Yard debris
* Rubbish piles
* Brush piles
*Burn Barrels
* ANY open flame outdoors

Our department responded to TWO fires tonight alone caused by illegal burning. This is exactly how these large wildfires startβ€”nobody intends for it to get out of control, but in these conditions, it happens FAST.

⚠️ We ARE enforcing this.
This burn ban carries the full force of law and violations can result in:

* Fines ranging from $100 up to $1,000+
* Being held financially responsible for fire damage and response costs

It only takess ONE sparkβ€”a burn pile, a cigarette tossed out the window, even equipment hitting dry grassβ€”to start a wildfire.

πŸ™ We are asking you PLEASE

* Do NOT burn anything
* Do NOT throw ci******es out of your vehicle
* Avoid anything that could create sparks
* If you see a fire, call it in immediately

This is about protecting lives, homes, and our community.

We don’t want to fight preventable fires!!!!!!!!

We want everyone’s homes and lives safe.

Please take this seriously.
