⚠️ Golf Cart Reminder ⚠️

We’ve received several complaints regarding golf carts being operated in areas where they are not permitted.

A few quick reminders:
• Golf carts are not permitted on US 136.
• Golf carts are not permitted on walking paths, including those along Wall Street and in the park.
• Operators must meet the age requirements and golf carts must have the required safety equipment when operated on town streets.

Pittsboro Police officers will begin addressing violations which could include citations and tows.

Please help us keep everyone safe and enjoy your golf carts responsibly!

The Pittsboro Police Department along with other agencies will be conducting a grant funded “traffic blitz” beginning August 19th and continuing until September 7th . The emphasis will be on drivers operating vehicles on the road ways while impaired by alcohol or narcotics.
As in regular day to day operations traffic stops will be initiated for infractions observed such as traffic or equipment violations erratic driving and dispatched runs .

Requirements to receive a golf cart inspection from the Pittsboro Police Department:

-Your address must be inside the Town Limits of Pittsboro Indiana
-Registration is for golf carts only
-Physically be at location of golf cart at the time of call. NO APPOINTMENTS
-Golf cart must be insured
-Golf cart must have slow moving placard at time of registration request, functioning turn signals, functioning front and rear lights
-Factory seating only
