I woke up this morning to some terrible news. Representative Jerry Carter of Rockingham County passed away last night. Jerry was a veteran and a pastor. He was a trusted friend and man of God. I’ve been trying to carry on through this day like normal, but it is difficult. The tears come easy and are hard to hold back. But there is comfort. The selfish part of me says why him. Then God reminds me that our time is on His time and all things work together for good in his plan.
But still, it hurts.

To his beloved wife and family you have my deepest condolences and most heartfelt prayers. And to Jerry, goodbye for now my brother. I’ll see you on the golden shore.
