Want to learn more about recycling, composting, and waste reduction in Chatham County?
The Waste Reduction and Recycling Enthusiast Program (WREP) is a community education and volunteer program designed for those who want to dive deeper into sustainability while making a difference locally. Through engaging classes, hands-on experiences, volunteer opportunities, and community outreach, participants learn about topics like recycling, composting, food waste reduction, environmental impacts of waste, and more.
Whether you’re someone who wants to volunteer at events, help educate others, explore sustainable living practices, or simply learn more about how waste systems work, WREP has a place for you. Past volunteers have helped with everything from educational booths and children’s activities to composting projects and community outreach.
Applications for the next WREP cohort are open now! You can apply for the program at the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/U98ZNQ6uTu
