Earlier today, Pittsboro Fire Department personnel responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the Asbury community. Due to the patient's medical needs and the distance to the nearest Level I Trauma Center, air medical transport was requested.

A landing zone was established at Pittsboro Fire Department Station 3, where Tar Heel 2 safely landed and transported the patient for further care.

We appreciate the efforts of all responding agencies and the seamless coordination that helped ensure the patient received timely access to advanced medical treatment.

Today, May 4th, we recognize International Firefighters’ Day — a time to honor the brave men and women who serve their communities with courage, dedication, and selflessness.

Firefighters don’t just respond to emergencies — they stand ready at all hours, protect lives and property, and support their neighbors in times of need. Whether in a career or a volunteer role, their commitment makes a difference every single day.

We also take a moment to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their service and legacy will never be forgotten.

Please join us in thanking all firefighters today — especially the members of our department — for everything they do to keep our community safe.

🚒 Hydrant Testing Notice 🚒

The Pittsboro Fire Department will be conducting routine fire hydrant testing throughout our response area over the next several weeks.

This important process helps ensure hydrants are in proper working condition and allows us to maintain adequate water flow for fire protection.

💧 What to Expect:

Temporary drops in water pressure
Possible discolored water (rusty or cloudy appearance)

If you notice discoloration, we recommend running cold water from a faucet until it clears.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep our community safe!

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
