๐Ÿฆƒ๐Ÿ‚ A Thanksgiving Message to Constituents ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿฆƒ

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As we gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, I find myself reflecting on the many blessings and opportunities that have come my way over the past 24 years. This Thanksgiving marks my 24th and final year serving as your District 5 Supervisor on the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors. It has been an incredible journey, and I am deeply grateful for the trust and support you have shown me throughout this time. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿงก๐ŸคŽ

Thanksgiving is a time to express gratitude and to recognize the many gifts we have been given. I am profoundly thankful for the opportunity to serve the wonderful constituents of District 5. Your faith in me has allowed me to work towards making our community a better place, and for that, I am eternally grateful. ๐ŸŒŸ

I am especially thankful for my wife, Janis, who has been my steadfast partner and best friend throughout my tenure. Her unwavering support and encouragement have been a source of strength for me, and I am blessed to have her by my side. ๐Ÿ’–

I am also grateful for my children and grandchildren, who have grown up in a county where opportunities abound. Their presence in my life has been a constant reminder of the importance of working towards a brighter future for all our residents. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆโœจ

My colleagues on the Board of Supervisors and the dedicated staff in various county departments have been instrumental in helping me achieve many of the dreams I have had for our county. Their hard work and collaboration have made it possible to bring about positive change, and I am thankful for their partnership. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’ซ

As we celebrate this Thanksgiving, I urge all of us to remember the true spirit of this holiday. Let us be grateful for what we have, but also benevolent towards those who are in need. Let us care for those who are struggling, support those who have not been equally and equitably treated, and embrace those who are different from us. In doing so, we honor the true meaning of Thanksgiving and strengthen the bonds that hold our community together. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ’–

Thank you for allowing me to serve you for these past 24 years. I wish you and your loved ones a joyous and blessed Thanksgiving.๐Ÿงก๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿฆƒโœจ

Warm regards,
Supervisor Federal D. Glover

๐Ÿฆƒ๐Ÿฆƒ ๐Ÿฆƒ This year, Supervisor Federal Glover proudly continued his tradition of giving back with the 24th Annual Turkey Giveaway, providing 1,700 turkeys to families in need.

This cherished event brings holiday joy to the community, ensuring everyone has the chance to enjoy a warm meal.

We would like to give special recognition to Calpine, our steadfast partner in this effort. Not only do they help fund the event, but they also send manpower every year to ensure these turkeys reach families in needโ€”a monumental task that wouldnโ€™t be possible without their dedication.

โ€œThough Iโ€™ll be retiring this year, this event has always been close to my heart,โ€ said Supervisor Glover. โ€œIโ€™m deeply grateful to Calpine, all of our dedicated partners, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this yearโ€™s giveaway a success.โ€

Supervisor Glover remains committed to fostering Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access (DEIA) throughout Contra Costa County. Thank you to all who joined us in building a stronger, more compassionate community.

Warm regards,
The Office of Supervisor Federal D. Glover
Contra Costa County, District V

An Official Endorsement: Elect Shanelle Scales-Preston as the Next District 5 Supervisor

In just a little over 24 hours, the 2024 election season will come to a close. Over the next few hours, you will have choices to make about the leadership that will guide our country and on a local level, guide our county. And as I prepare to retire from public service, I reflect on the 24 years I have had the honor of serving as your District 5 Supervisor and the current chairperson of the Board of Supervisors. It is with great pride and confidence that I officially endorse Shanelle Scales-Preston to be the next elected supervisor for Contra Costa County, District 5.

Shanelle has proven herself to be an effective and distinguished elected official on the Pittsburg City Council. Her experience and dedication have shown that she understands the value and nature of intergovernmental relations, having worked effectively with various public agencies both as a council member and in her role as District Director in the office of Congressman Mark DeSaulnier.

Integrity is a cornerstone of Shanelleโ€™s campaign. She has been forthright, honest, and truthful, avoiding spurious claims and focusing on the real issues that matter to our community. I am confident that Shanelle is best suited to continue the committed service I have provided for the past 24 years, always working on behalf of all our districtโ€™s constituents, not just special interest groups.

I unequivocally endorse Shanelle Scales-Preston and call upon my constituents and supporters to cast their ballots on November 5 to make her the next District 5 supervisor. Together, we can ensure that our community continues to thrive under her capable leadership.

๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‘ป Happy Halloween, District V! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‘ป

We hope everyone has a festive, fun, and safe celebration today. Halloween brings so much joy to our community, from trick-or-treating with friends and family to creative costumes and decorations. As you enjoy the festivities, letโ€™s keep safety top of mind, especially for our little trick-or-treaters!

Here are a few tips to ensure everyone has a safe Halloween:

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Trick-or-Treating Safety:
Stay Visible: Use reflective elements or add glow sticks and flashlights to make sure trick-or-treaters are seen by drivers.
Use Crosswalks: Cross streets at crosswalks and remind kids to look both ways.
Travel in Groups: Go with a group or ensure children are with a responsible adult. Stick to familiar, well-lit areas.

๐ŸŽญ Costume Safety:
Choose Safe Accessories: Make sure props like swords are short and flexible.
Avoid Masks that Block Vision: Face paint can be a safer option!

๐Ÿ  Safety at Home:
Clear Walkways: Keep porches and walkways free of obstacles.
Drive Carefully: Be mindful of trick-or-treaters and drive slowly in residential areas.

Letโ€™s make this Halloween a fun and safe one for all. Wishing everyone a spook-tacular night filled with treats and fun!

Warm regards,
The Office of Supervisor Federal D. Glover
