I’ve been at the polling station on Centennial since 6:15 this morning to work as a poll watcher (poll agent is the legal term) and was first in line to vote this morning.

Got to say hi to Glenn Bloomer and Steve A Bolinger who were in line right behind me!

What’s the point of a poll agent or poll worker?

Poll workers are the folks who put in a 14 hour day to ensure we get to exercise our right to vote. They are great people and do an incredible job at it! We need more like them.

Poll agents are there to serve as a check and to provide independent assurance that the local elections are being run appropriately. (News flash - They are!) Poll agents can be political party officials like me, candidate representatives or just volunteers appointed by their political party.

I want to give a huge thank you to our county clerk Lisa Faulkner Lusker and to the elections director Gene Rountree plus all the election workers for the incredible job they do to make sure every vote counts while maintaining the integrity of the elections! THANK YOU!!!
