A pair of ATV goggles left the store yesterday without being paid for, and we’re hoping you all can help us identify the individual pictured.

The Pittsburg Police Department has received multiple reports of this scam going around. Citizens have reported receiving this message through both text and email. If you are in receipt of this “notice”, please ignore this message and delete it immediately. There are numerous types of scams out there, if you receive this or any other questionable notifications that don’t make sense, you are encouraged to contact the Pittsburg Police Department and we can help determine if you are being scammed.

With the increase in tinted windows and windshields seen in Rindge recently, we would to remind you of the New Hampshire laws pertaining to After Market Tint. The fine for Tinted Windows is $93.00 per offense.

Pursuant to New Hampshire law, RSA 266:58-a, tinting to the windows to the left and right of the driver where they are allowed shall not be less than 70 percent light transmittance, and the light transmittance of after market tinted rear windows where they are allowed shall not be less than 35 percent. It shall be unlawful to sell or inspect any motor vehicle in this state which has after market tinting on the windshield, OR TO DRIVE ON ANY WAY ANY MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTERED IN THIS STATE WHICH HAS AFTER MARKET TINTING ON THE WINDSHIELD.

Where after market tinting is applied to windows to the rear of the driver, outside rear view mirrors shall be required on both the left and right side of the vehicle for the use of the driver and a front seat passenger.

What does that mean?

Windows that are allowed to be tinted WITHOUT a Waiver? After-market tinting may be applied to the windows TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT OF THE DRIVER AND FRONT SEAT PASSENGER , with NOT LESS THAN 70 percent light transmittance, and the REAR windows of a vehicle, with NOT LESS THAN 35 percent light transmittance.

Windows that are allowed to be tinted WITH a Waiver? After-market tinting may be applied to the windshield and the windows to the left and right of the driver with not less than 35 percent light transmittance ONLY WITH A WAIVER ISSUED BY THE STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY.

Tinted Window Medical Waiver Application Process:

Persons who require for medical reasons after market tinting on the windshield and the windows to the left and right of the driver may apply for a special permit pursuant to RSA 266:61-a. Pursuant Saf-C 2500, persons wishing to apply for Tinted Window Medical Waiver for the windshield and the windows to the left and right of the driver must submit an application PDF document dated within six (6) months, along with photocopies of the vehicle registration(s) that require tinting. The applicant is allowed to have up to two (2) vehicles listed on the waiver. This information may be faxed to the DMV at (603) 271-7800, or mailed to:

Once the application is approved, a waiver is granted for two years. To renew a Tinted Window Medical Waiver, a new application signed by the physician within 6 months of submitting the application must be sent in, along with a photocopy of the vehicle registration(s).

There is no fee to obtain a Tinted Window Medical Waiver.

The Pittsburg Police Department would like to officially announce that Captain John LeBlanc has agreed to go over the edge… literally.

Captain LeBlanc is participating in the Coos County Child Advocacy Center’s “Over the Edge” fundraiser, and if he reaches his goal of $1,000 (or more), he will be rappelling down the 300-foot Brady Sullivan Tower in Manchester, NH.

This is in support of an incredible cause. The Coos County Child Advocacy Center provides a safe, neutral space for children affected by abuse, focusing on justice, healing, equity, and prevention through strong partnerships across our communities.

So here’s where you come in:
