Pittsburg Adult Education Center, part of the Pittsburg Unified School District, was established in 1928. The school serves students residing in Pittsburg, Bay Point, Antioch, and the rest of the East County. The campus includes (1) a main administration building, (2) 26 classrooms, and (3) a community resource building. This 28,000 square foot building, a
cquired in December 2008, also hosts Boys and Girls Club activities in the afternoon. This facility has greatly extended and enhanced PAEC’s facilities, expanding parking space, office space, the number of classrooms, adding a large auditorium-style meeting room seating 600 people, a gymnasium, and a presence on the main street. In addition to the main campus, classes are held at 25 sites throughout the community that include both school and non-school locations. The school operates on a year-round basis, Monday through Friday. Some classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays. Pittsburg Adult Education Center has been a successful part of the Pittsburg Unified School District for over 80 years. The school facilities have grown and its program has expanded from being an “Evening School” to a top notch Community Educational Center providing over 120 different courses to meet the needs of a very diverse population.
