“Without health insurance, there wasn’t really anything I could do...” ❤️

When Francisca and her family moved to America four years ago, they were determined to build a better life for their two young children. But that dream was threatened when Francisca began suffering from severe dizziness, weakness, and fatigue. Without health insurance, getting the medical care she desperately needed felt impossible, until she found the RotaCare Pittsburg Free Medical Clinic at St. Vincent de Paul.

Thanks to our incredible team, including Dr. Jane Hewitt (pictured here with Francisca!), Francisca received free medical exams, free lab tests, and free medication. She was diagnosed with and treated for anemia, allowing her to regain her strength, control her condition, and continue working to support her family.

When a new health challenge arose recently with abdominal pain, Francisca knew she could rely on SVdP. Today, thanks to tools like our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and telehealth options, we are able to keep providing high-quality, accessible care to thousands of uninsured neighbors across Contra Costa County.

Medical care shouldn’t be out of reach. If you or someone you know needs help, we are here for you. 👇

Caring for neighbors who are going through tough times takes a dedicated team, and Bank of America’s support is a vital piece of the answer. Their generosity directly funds our daily efforts to feed, clothe, shelter, and heal individuals and families who are struggling in Contra Costa County.
This partnership keeps the doors of the St. Vincent de Paul Family Resource Center open. It keeps our food pantries stocked for hungry families, ensures we have warm clothing ready for those who need it, and keeps the free medical and dental clinics running so neighbors can get free, essential care.
When someone is facing an emergency, this support provides the practical stability they need to get back on their feet in the form of rental or utility aid - contributing to the economic security of our neighbors. It shows our neighbors that they have a whole community standing behind them.

Huge thanks to the incredible team of 30 Kaiser Permanente employees who spent yesterday volunteering with us at St. Vincent de Paul of Contra Costa! 💙

This powerhouse group brought amazing energy to our Family Resource Center, rolling up their sleeves to help us feed, clothe, shelter, and heal our neighbors in need.

Here is how the Kaiser team made a direct impact:

🍏 Feeding & Healing: They packed essential hygiene kits, food bags, and snack bags for people in need.
👕 Clothing: They sorted through clothing donations in our Thrift Store, ensuring local families have access to quality apparel.
🏡 Sheltering & Dignity: They refreshed our outside grounds by spreading fresh bark, keeping our campus a welcoming, safe, and beautiful space for everyone who walks through our doors.

The KP team’s hard work directly contributes to the health and well-being of thousands of individuals in our community. We are deeply grateful for their hands-on support and their true culture of care.
