📚 A quick Labor Day weekend reminder!

The Pittsburg Public Library will be closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for Labor Day weekend. We’ll reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, September 8.

But before the long weekend begins, there’s still time for a little book shopping! 🛍️📖 Stop by the Friends of the Library Book Sale Saturday and stock up on some great reads! The sale starts at 8am in the Library's courtyard.

Then get out and enjoy all that Pittsburg has to offer this weekend, including Family Day at PSU and Little Balkans Days! 💛❤️

Pittsburg history is now just a search away! 🔎📰 We’re excited to introduce the Pittsburg Public Library’s new Digital Archives!

The first group of digitized local newspapers, "The Morning Sun" and "Pittsburg Daily Headlight," dating from 1886–1915, is now searchable online. Search for a family name. Look up a local business. Revisit a historic event—or discover the everyday stories of Pittsburg more than a century ago.

And this is just the beginning! The Digital Archives is an ongoing project, with additional years of Pittsburg newspapers to be added as they are digitized.

There’s much more to the story! Read about the project and start exploring the archives: https://pplonline.org/newspaper-digitization-project/

You can print emails, documents, photos, boarding passes, web pages, and more at Pittsburg Public Library (PPL). Print directly from a library computer or use your smartphone, tablet, home computer, or laptop to send a mobile print request.

Today, we remember a true friend to libraries, books, and readers everywhere. ❤️📚

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Dolly shared her love of reading with millions of children and families—putting books into little hands and helping inspire a lifelong love of reading.

Her music made the world brighter, but so did her kindness, generosity, and belief in the power of a good book.

We’ve put together a small tribute to Dolly in the PPL lobby, featuring books from our collection. Stop by, say hello to Dolly one more time, and maybe check out a book in her memory. ❤️📖✨

Thank you, Dolly, for everything. You will be deeply missed. 🦋
