Today, we remember St. Rita of Cascia, patron saint of those enduring difficult marriages and unsafe situations.

At Harbor House, we encounter women and children facing circumstances that often feel just as overwhelming. Many come with little support, and for some, patterns of abuse have become so familiar they are difficult to recognize.

Yet in the midst of these realities, we witness strength, courage, and the first steps toward safety and hope.

We’re grateful to walk with those seeking a new path forward and to offer a place where dignity and care come first.

Pittsburg office closure notice

The Catholic Charities Pittsburg Office will be closed beginning at noon Tuesday, April 22 through Friday, April 24 as staff attend the Summit on Homelessness conference.

During this time, SAFE Project staff will still be in the Pittsburg office and available.

The office will reopen and resume normal hours on Monday, April 27.

Catholic Charities has been serving neighbors across Southeast Kansas for nearly four decades.

Our work in the region began in 1987 when Catholic Social Services expanded services to Southeast Kansas. The office later relocated to Pittsburg in 1990, where our team continues serving individuals and families across 11 counties today.

Last year, the Pittsburg office moved into a new building, creating more space to better support the community through housing assistance, case management, and services for veterans and survivors of domestic violence.
