The just unanimously passed my bill to combat image-based sexual abuse. When sexually explicit images are shared without consent, our current law leaves many victims without recourse because it applies only in limited circumstances; when the perpetrator is a current or former intimate partner of the victim and acts with the intent to harass or annoy. This bill is designed to provide a path to justice for people whose most private moments have been weaponized against them, whether the perpetrator is a former partner or a stranger on the internet.

Budget negotiations for the 2026-27 state budget are ramping up, and the spent the first three of 18 scheduled session days advancing many great bills. Last week, we moved legislation (House Bill 2540) that would require chip-enabled EBT cards out of the House Human Services Committee unanimously, positioning it for a full vote in the PA House in the coming weeks: https://penncapital-star.com/food-insecurity/pa-moves-closer-to-chip-enabled-cards-for-snap-enrollees/

And we sent a number of great bills from the PA House to the state Senate, including:

H.B. 1045 – Helping school personnel recognize seizures: https://www.palegis.us/legislation/bills/2025/hb1045

H.B. 2117 – Ensuring access to asthma medication in schools: https://www.palegis.us/legislation/bills/2025/hb2117

H.B. 2186 – Expanding housing supply by allowing for accessory dwelling units: https://www.palegis.us/legislation/bills/2025/hb2186

H.B. 2120 – Protecting homeowners in shared equity deals: https://www.palegis.us/legislation/bills/2025/hb2120

H.B. 2314 – Directing the Attorney General to conduct a public education campaign on artificial intelligence: https://www.palegis.us/legislation/bills/2025/hb2314

Nearly 400 bills have now been passed by the PA House during the 2025-26 Legislative Session. Remember that, to become law, these bills must also be passed by the state Senate and approved by the governor. Read more about the legislation we've passed at pahouse.com/deliveringforpa.
