During one of the most difficult chapters of her life, Lupita held onto a simple wish: to meet her grandmother. 👩🏽👧🏽
After facing cancer twice and enduring countless treatments, hospital visits and a bone marrow transplant, Lupita's wish reconnected her to her family’s heritage. When her wish was granted, she and her family traveled to Mexico, where her grandmother, uncles and cousins welcomed her with traditional food, a piñata and open arms.
"I wanted to know if they were real. Going on a trip is wonderful, but getting the chance to meet my family meant everything," Lupita said.
This Hispanic Heritage Month, we're celebrating the importance of family, culture and the connections that help children find hope during difficult times. ❤️
