💰📚 This July, PPS Career & Technical Education proudly hosted FinCamp at the Greenway Professional Development Learning Center!

Educators participated in an engaging, hands-on professional development experience focused on strengthening financial literacy instruction. The day included practical classroom resources, collaboration with fellow educators, professional development credit, and strategies teachers can use immediately with students.

We are proud to celebrate that students from Pittsburgh Carrick and Pittsburgh Westinghouse have officially become Carpenters Union apprentices! PPS-CTE was happy to remove all barriers by providing their kits (seen in photo below), registration fees and books. Their hard work and dedication have earned them the opportunity to begin rewarding careers in the skilled trades.

🎗️🩺 PPS CTE Pittsburgh Carrick Health Career students had the opportunity to participate in an inspiring Oncology Careers Experience Day with the AHN Cancer Institute!

Students explored the diverse world of healthcare careers through:
🔬 Interactive lab and hospital tours
🧠 A Kahoot knowledge challenge
🧬 Discussions on the latest advances in cancer genetics
🚁 A special Life Flight experience
💬 A “Heroes in Health” panel discussion with healthcare professionals

This hands-on experience gave students valuable insight into the many career pathways within the medical and healthcare field. Thank you to the AHN Cancer Institute and all presenters for creating such an engaging and educational day for our students! 👏
