Beginning tomorrow, Saturday, June 6, 2026, Pennsylvania drivers can be cited under Paul Miller's Law for using a hand-held mobile device while driving. The law prohibits holding a phone, texting, scrolling, dialing with more than one button, or reaching for a device in a manner that requires a driver to become unseated or unbuckled.
The law applies even when stopped at a red light or in traffic. Drivers may still use hands-free technology, GPS navigation, and mobile devices to contact emergency services. It does not apply when a vehicle is safely pulled out of the flow of traffic.
Penalty = $50 fine plus court costs and other fees
