148 Rescue is currently on scene of a vehicle fire on Interstate 79. Expect traffic delays near mile marker 66.8!

At approximately 9:20am (8/8), 148RQ1 along with 258RQ1 (Cochran Hose Company - Sewickley Fire Department) and 103EN1 (Avalon Volunteer Fire Company) were alerted for a single vehicle rollover, with entrapment in the area of the Glenfield Park and Ride. 148 Assistant arrived shortly after dispatch and confirmed one vehicle on its roof with one occupant entrapped. 148RQ1 arrived and stabilized the vehicle and began extrication. 148RQ1 along with 258RQ1 preformed a side removal of the passenger side and removed the steering wheel to free the occupant. Units operated on scene for just over an hour.

The I-79 Southbound on-ramp from Route 65 is currently closed due to a tractor trailer rollover. Expect delays in the area. The ramp will be closed for an unknown amount of time.

148 Rescue is currently on scene of a Vehicle accident with entrapment in the area of the Wendy’s on Route 65. Route 65 Southbound is expected to be closed for an extended period of time.

148 Engine (5) and Chief are currently enroute to the Borough of Bellevue to assist with a reported garage fire. First arriving units arrived with fire showing.

At approximately 6:30 this morning, (7/13/26) 148EN was alerted for a reported structure fire in the 700 BLK of Chestnut Rd in Edgeworth Borough. 258EN Arrived to find a 3 story, single family residence with smoke and fire showing. 148EN was third arriving and secured the 2nd due engine assignment. 148 crews assisted with every aspect of the fire scene and operated on scene for around 5 hours.

🚨FYI🚨

If you travel across the Glenfield Viaduct, please plan ahead. PennDOT will begin expansion dam repair work on the bridge starting Monday, July 6.

Single lane alternating traffic will be in place on the Glenfield Viaduct, which carries Glenfield Street over Route 65, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., on weekdays through mid July while crews replace the bridge's expansion seals.

Please allow yourself extra travel time, slow down in the work zone and watch for flaggers and changing traffic patterns.
