This year for Critical Needs, food insecurity is one of 3 areas of focus.

“As a family of four living in the Pittsburgh area, we have found it increasingly difficult to afford the basic groceries needed to provide healthy, balanced meals”.

Current estimates indicate that a modest grocery budget for a family of four ranges from approximately $1,000 to $1,600 per month, depending on household needs and food prices. Even a USDA "thrifty" food plan exceeds $1,000 per month, placing a significant strain on families with limited incomes.

Your contribution to Family Resources helps us reach our fundraising goal of $5,000 for families.
