The results are in... and WOW!

Thanks to a costumed crowd of superheroes, witches, princesses, and pop stars, the BWEF Halloween Party at Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers raised $1,400 between the hours of 4-9 p.m. (15% of the net sales through the evening).
That is a 27% increase over last year's event and raised our two-year fundraising sum at Raising Cane's to $2,500, which gets invested into BWSD through Foundation initiatives. In addition, we collected nearly $500 in cash and inventory donations for the Baldwin High School and J. E. Harrison Middle School Purple Pantry through our stuff-a-van collection drive.

WHAT A BLAST! Thank you to our community partners at Raising Cane's, to the faculty and staff of the Baldwin-Whitehall School District for making this a fun Halloween celebration, and to the BWSD community for your support.

Baldwin-Whitehall Educational Foundation is pleased to announce that we will establish a Purple Pantry inside J. E. Harrison Middle School (HMS) during the 2026-27 academic year that will support students enrolled in grades 6-8 who are experiencing homelessness and/or food insecurity. Similar to the Purple Pantry at Baldwin High School (BHS), this location will provide basic life essentials (foods and beverages, personal hygiene supplies, and basic toiletries) to HMS students in a private setting so that they are put in position to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

The HMS Purple Pantry was funded through a BWEF innovation grant in the value of $3,000. The Foundation will work closely with faculty ambassadors at HMS and BHS to support operations, to share resources across schools, and to ensure that students feel comfortable requesting the support they need.

Congratulations to the faculty, staff, and administration at J. E. Harrison Middle School on opening the HMS Purple Pantry, and special thanks to the Baldwin-Whitehall School District community for their continued support of this initiative.

WOW WOW WOW!

BWEF would like to send a heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, and donated to the BWEF Mini Golf Outing last week.

Hundreds of families joined us for an evening of games, activities, food, and special guests. Congratulations to the following Baldwin-Whitehall School District students who won the scavenger hunt raffle prizes!

The event grossed ~$30,000, allowing us to award an innovation grant to The Purbalite and Studio B, Baldwin High School's student-managed newspaper and podcasting suite, in the amount of ~$5,000. Additional proceeds will support BWEF initiatives and special projects throughout the year.
