USCG Auxiliary members render the military hand salute during the National Anthem when in uniform and properly covered, honoring the flag in accordance with Coast Guard customs and national protocol. This practice reflects the professionalism and respect upheld across Team Coast Guard.
If on a vessel, Stability and safety come first; members maintain secure footing and avoid moving around the vessel during the salute.
