Dear Chartiers Valley Families,
As we prepare to welcome our students back for the 2026–2027 school year, we are excited to begin another outstanding year together. The first day of school is always an exciting time, and we want to make sure our families have a few important reminders and updates as we prepare for Tuesday, September 1.
Transportation
We recognize that the first week of school can require some adjustment as students, families, and bus drivers become familiar with routes, schedules, and the routines of a new school year. Our transportation team will be closely monitoring routes throughout the first week and will make adjustments as necessary to help ensure that transportation operates as safely and efficiently as possible.
We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition period. Our priority is providing students with safe, reliable transportation while working through the normal adjustments that occur at the beginning of the school year.

First-Week Middle School and High School Early Release
Families should also be aware that the Middle School and High School will have a 10-minute early release during the first week of school only. This temporary adjustment will allow buses to begin their Intermediate and Primary School routes earlier, helping us establish more consistent transportation schedules across the district.
This early-release adjustment is intended only for the first week as we work to establish efficient and reliable bus runs. We appreciate your cooperation as we make this transition.
InCommunity Magazine
We are also excited to share that our quarterly InCommunity magazine will be delivered to district households in mid-September. This publication will provide families and community members with an inside look at the many outstanding things happening throughout the Chartiers Valley School District.
Each issue highlights our students and staff, academic and extracurricular programs, accomplishments, facilities, and important initiatives taking place across our schools. We look forward to using InCommunity as another way to celebrate the people and programs that make Chartiers Valley such a special place to learn and grow.
As we approach the first day of school, we are grateful for the continued partnership and support of our families. We have been working diligently throughout the summer to prepare our schools, staff, programs, and transportation services for the year ahead, and we are excited to welcome our students back.
