Four North Allegheny students have been named among the Top 300 Junior Innovators in the 2026 Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge (JIC), the nation’s premier middle school STEM research competition.

Dwai Prasad of Marshall Middle School (now a freshman at North Allegheny Intermediate High School), along with Ingomar Middle School’s Dhruv Chethan, Shreyan Kapoor, and Aarav Singhal, earned a place on this prestigious list. Their selection was based on projects submitted to the Pittsburgh Regional Science & Engineering Fair in March 2026.

The Top 300 Junior Innovators were chosen from a competitive pool of nearly 2,000 applicants and represent the best and brightest middle school STEM talent in the U.S. and its territories. The Top 30 Thermo Fisher JIC finalists will be announced on Sept. 16 and will compete for more than $100,000 in awards, including the $25,000 Thermo Fisher Scientific ASCEND (Aspiring Scientists Cultivating Exciting New Discoveries) Award.
Congratulations to our NA students on this outstanding achievement, and best of luck as you strive to be selected among the Top 30 finalists.

The NASH Preschool program provides a unique, hands-on learning experience for both preschoolers and North Allegheny Senior High School students. Throughout the year, high school students gain real-world experience in child development as they plan and lead engaging activities, observe developmental milestones, and build meaningful relationships with their preschoolers. This program is offered to NA residents ranging in age from 3.5 to 5 years old.
