MORE THAN A DOZEN GUNS OFF THE STREET

This morning, the Allegheny County Police Department’s Narcotics, Vice, and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant leading to two arrests, and more than a dozen guns taken off the street.

Detectives conducted a search at a home in the 1000 block of Evergreen Road in Millvale as part of an ongoing fi****ms investigation and recovered 17 fi****ms, more than 5 pounds of ma*****na, and more than $15,000 in cash.

Damion Tigney Sr. and a juvenile male were taken into custody at the scene. Tigney is facing multiple charges to include possession with intent to distribute, and possession of a controlled substance. Fi****ms charges were filed against the juvenile through the juvenile the court system.

County Police would like to thank Tarentum Police, Millvale Police. Allegheny County Juvenile Probation, and Allegheny County Housing Authority Police for their assistance in this operation.

IN CUSTODY

County Police have taken a wanted homicide suspect into custody after more than two years on the run.

20-year-old Darien Wallace was taken into custody this evening in Trafford, Westmoreland County. Wallace was wanted in connection with a double shooting in Braddock in April of 2024. He was charged on April 4, 2024, with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and illegal possession of a firearm. 16-year-old Jeramyah Pollard was killed, and another teen was injured.

Detectives received information Wallace was inside a home in the 500 block of West Inwood Road. The Allegheny County Police SWAT Team surrounded the residence and Wallace was taken into custody as he attempted to flee the area at approximately 6:30 pm. Detectives also recovered an AR-style pistol, ammunition, and multiple magazines inside the residence.

County Police would like to thank the US Marshals Western PA Fugitive Task Force, the Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Trafford Police, Pitcairn Police and North Huntingdon Police for their assistance.

Wallace will be transported to the Allegheny County Jail pending preliminary arraignment.

The Allegheny County Police Department's Homicide Unit responded to a request for assistance in West Homestead.

At 4:29 PM on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, County 9-1-1 was notified of a four-year old female who lost control of her bike and struck a parked vehicle. After striking the parked vehicle the child was struck by a box truck. This occurred near the intersection of West 8th Avenue and Neel Street. The operator of the vehicle remained on scene and the victim was transported to UPMC Children’s Hospital. Detectives are initiating the investigation.

County Police have charged a Louisiana man after a firearm was discovered at the security checkpoint at Pittsburgh International Airport.

At 5:40 am on June 2, Transportation Security Administration officers observed a loaded handgun within a passenger’s carry-on bag at the security checkpoint of Pittsburgh International Airport and alerted Allegheny County Police.

County Police identified the passenger as 24-year-old Bryce McAfoose of St. Amant, LA and determined McAfoose did not possess a valid concealed carry permit. McAfoose is charged with carrying a firearm without a license. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was also notified.

Passengers who bring fi****ms into an airport security checkpoint can face federal civil fines from the Transportation Security Administration up to $10,000. Repeat offenders can be fined up to $13,910.

UNSOLVED HOMICIDE INVESTIGATIONS

At 4:47 pm on November 21, 2022, County 9-1-1 was notified of a shooting in the 500 block of Holmes Street in Wilkinsburg. Responding officers discovered an adult male shot multiple times on the front porch of a home. The victim, later identified as 40-year-old Walter Sloan, died at the scene.

Detectives were able to locate surveillance video which captured the incident. In these videos, two males are observed walking on Holmes Street. Moments later, both males stopped at the porch where Walter was standing and opened fire. More than a dozen shots were fired. At this point, detectives have not been able to identify the two men responsible for the shooting and continue to ask for the community’s help.

The Allegheny County Police Department's Homicide Unit and Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to a request for assistance in Sharpsburg.

At 3:26 pm this date, County 9-1-1 was notified of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of 18th Street and Main Street. First responders found an adult male victim. The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Detectives are initiating the investigation. Preliminary information shows the victim driving a pickup truck had a medical emergency and went through the intersection striking a telephone pole. The victim’s vehicle was then struck by another vehicle.

County Police have filed charges in connection with a hit and run in Pitcairn.

At 9:17 pm on May 21, County 9-1-1 was notified of a vehicle striking a pedestrian in the 400 block of Broadway Boulevard. First responders found an adult female struck and the striking vehicle fled the area. The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit was requested and detectives initiated an investigation.

Through evidence recovered at the scene and multiple surveillances videos, detectives identified the vehicle involved as a Kia Optima. Detectives were able to utilize multiple investigative techniques to identify the vehicle and driver as 22-year-old Patrick Body. After consultation with the district attorney’s office, Body is facing multiple charges to include aggravated assault by vehicle, accidents involving death or personal injury, and failure to stop and render aid.

At this time, County Police have not been able to locate Body and are asking for the community’s help. Body is described as 6’3” tall and his last known address is in Monroeville. 5/28 Update: County Police have charged 32-year-old Niko Hostler of Verona with criminal homicide. He is currently lodged in the Allegheny County Jail.

The Allegheny County Police Department's Homicide Unit responded to a request for assistance in Springdale Township.

At 5:09pm this date, County 9-1-1 was notified of a shooting in the 200 block of School Street, Oaks Towing. First responders found an adult male shot multiple times. The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Detectives are initiating the investigation. Preliminary information shows a verbal argument escalated into a physical confrontation between two employees. During the physical confrontation the suspect shot the victim multiple times. Everyone involved has been identified. Detectives will consult with the District Attorney’s Office for a charging decision.
