We're back from this year's Disability:IN conference, and we're inspired by all the great people we were able to connect with along the way. ❤️

We joined nearly 4,000 people representing 950 companies from 40 countries, and we were proud to represent the small but mighty community of Disability-Owned Business Enterprises (DOBEs). As we remain at the forefront of , specializing in foreign language , , training and consulting, events like this remind us why our work matters.

The theme, "human-in-the-lead," not "human-in-the-loop,” really stuck with us as it confirms what we’ve believed in from day one. That AI is simply a tool. That it’s the people, in collaboration with tools like AI, who bring quality, judgment, and care to the work we all do. It's with this mindset that we excel in offering our partners holistic, human-led, translation and interpretation services.

We also loved sharing our story with conference attendees. Many of them expressed interest in our mission, our values, and our commitment to our linguists and the community. The response from other suppliers and corporate partners was a great reminder that authenticity is still our biggest differentiator.

A few takeaways we're already putting into action:
✅ Rethinking how we talk about AI. The "human-in-the-lead" term isn’t something new for us, it’s how we already operate as a company.
✅ Bringing our impact to life through real-life examples. We're building out new case studies across industries to show how our clients have truly benefited from our professional language services.

And we can all make a difference if we work together. We’re proud to announce that Global Wordsmiths is now featured in the Disability:IN DOBE Marketplace alongside so many other accessible suppliers, partners, and businesses that we encourage you to check out: https://www.disabilityin.org/conference/dobe-marketplace?utm_source=referrals&utm_medium=dobe&utm_campaign=2026_dobe_marketplace

We’re so grateful to be a part of this community and are already looking forward to next year’s conference in Denver!

Join us for an exciting webinar hosted by our friends at NASBITE International next Tuesday, August 11 EST!

Our Senior Director of Sales, Meredith Getachew, is thrilled to share how we specialize in helping our B2B and B2C clients from various industries understand the core principles of localization, so their message feels authentically native when entering new global markets.

⚽Goooal: How to Score Big Through Language Localization will not only cover the cultural nuances we witnessed during the World Cup games, but how tailoring content to resonate with local cultures can drive real conversion, how tailoring that content for various markets is easy with the right framework and resources in place and how understanding the language can help build trust and loyalty.

She’ll also discuss the risks involved when companies rely on simple AI and machine translation, which often miss context, nuances, cultural sensitivities, and technical terminology. These shortcomings can cost time, money, and a company’s reputation.

In a world where consumers crave authenticity, it’s more important than ever to get your message right from the start to ensure growth and success!
