Screen Time lets you set limits on your student’s iPad and secure it with a passcode you choose. If you enable Screen Time, please share the passcode with your student’s teachers in case limits prevent the device from functioning normally in class.

To configure Screen Time, open the Settings app on your child’s iPad, tap Screen Time on the left side, turn on Screen Time, and follow the prompts to set a Screen Time passcode to control access to Screen Time settings. Do not share this passcode with your child.

Please contact the Fox Chapel Area School District help desk at https://www.fcasd.edu/community/community-help-desk if you have any questions or concerns about Screen Time.

The Fox Chapel Area School District uses filters and software used to comply with the Children's Internet Protection Act (C**A). The district enables built-in filters on devices before distributing them to students and supplements them as needed. As an extra layer of protection, all devices connected to the district's network are filtered through the firewall's content filters, in addition to any on-device content filter already in place.

Common Sense Media recommends the free OpenDNS home filtering option, as it is free, easy to use, and customizable. For additional content filtering options, contact your internet provider, as most offer free options for families.
