At 3:30 am, the Company was alerted, along with 180 and 295, for an attic fire. While units were responding, an update was provided from Baldwin Emergency Medical Service that fire was through the roof. 232 Assistant 1 requested the second alarm at that time, bringing Stations 106, 116, 171, 270 and 301.
Assistant 1 arrived, established command, and confirmed fire through the roof and heavy smoke from the roof and eaves.
232 Engine arrived with 4 personnel, placed a handline in service, and began an aggressive attack with assistance from 180 Engine 1. The fire was reported to be knocked down within 10 minutes on scene.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Allegheny County Fire Marshall.
