At 1:40 pm, the first alarm was dispatched into Jefferson Hills for the residential fire. 232 Asst 1 came across this fire and radioed it directly to AC911.
What started as a small fire in the rear of the house quickly grew given wind conditions. 232 Engine arrived as first due engine and stretched a handline to the rear of the house for suppression.
301 Engine 1 arrived and established a water supply and stretched an additional handline. 5 total handlines were placed in service.
Crews were faced with heavy fire conditions on the first and second floor and were able to bring the fire under control.
232 Asst 1 had the command until it was turned over to 180 Deputy 1.
232 operated for approximately 3 hours on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Allegheny County Fire Marshall.
