Since 1893, The Children's Home of Pittsburgh and Lemieux Family Center's Adoption Program has placed over 7,000 infants and children with loving families in Southwestern Pennsylvania. In our infant program, we provide the full range of adoption services to birthparents, adoptive families and adoptees. As an affiliate of the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (S

WAN), we help children prepare for and to achieve permanency, including helping adoptive parents adopt from foster care. Our entire Adoption Program is focused on providing a lifetime of support services to anyone whose lives are touched by adoption.

- Has placed more than 7,000 infants and children in permanent homes
- Places an average of 24 infants per year with adoptive families
- Provides free birthparent counseling to more than 170 clients per year by licensed social workers
- Has completed an average of 25 family studies for adoptive families yearly
- Offers interim transitional care services by licensed transitional care families
- Provides additional services such as: support groups, open adoption mediation, research and reunion services, post adoption counseling, and infertility counseling
- Provides services to children and families through the Statewide Adoption & Permanency Network (SWAN) including home studies for families looking to adopt a child from foster care

Amanda Lowe, SWAN Program Manager, also presented earlier in the week.
