Thank you Daisy Troop #38011. Troop Leader Krista Johnston tells us “The girls had such an amazing time participating in Robinson Adopt a Street. The Daisy troop #38011 picked up litter from the Ikea Area near the old Toys R Us. It helped them realize the importance of not littering and how picking up litter can help their community. This tied in with the clover petal badge and community service patch. They were so proud of their efforts! I am so proud of them!”

Friday afternoons traffic was interesting to say the least. With a accident inbound on Parkway 376 near Greentree and the tanker truck roll over on I 79 Coraopolis / Rt 51 interchange, traffic became a stand still in many locations.

Robinson Twp. VFC #1 - 244 responded to the I 79 rollover along with other emergency crews. Fire Chief Ken Kisow, would like to thank all those who helped mitigate a safe and environmentally friendly outcome today. No one was hurt, including the driver. Kudos to all the professionals that kept it contained to a small area - from the local volunteer fire departments, Allegheny County Hazmat and great clean up crews working with the DEP. This shows what we train for. Thanks again to all!

Be sure to visit Robinson Twp. VFC #1 - Station 244 to view a video of the crane setting the tanker truck upright.

Greg Leininger, Walt & Tim Barefoot, Thomas Welsh, Dorothy & Keven Cloherty, Don Houser and Eric Sparkenbaugh members of Robinson Lions Club “Adopted a Street in Robinson”. They cleared litter from Aiken Road Extension. Aiken Road Ext is always extremely trashed. I am told they picked up from Clever Road all the way up to the landslide area. Robinson Township would like to extend a warm thank you to this amazing group of volunteers.

Every year, volunteers pick up litter along Aiken Road Ext. It is sad to say at least 16 bags of trash was picked up again. Please, do not throw trash out your car windows. Litter is harmful to the environment and is a black eye to the community.

Karen Crochunis, husband Rob and neighbor David Baldwin, went out this past Saturday to “Adopt a Street in Robinson Township”
Moon Run Road.

Karen Crochunis, a Special Realtor for Caldwell Banker remarked, “It was a long haul, 22 garbage bags! There were so many places on the low side of the road where people have dumped TV's, a sofa, about 100 tires and even a concrete casket, yes a casket. (it's empty!) These are in the gullies that you can't see and they are toward the end of the road along the vacant stretch and behind the stone wall. We could only do a small part of that as it wasn't reachable or safe to get.”
Karen also told me they picked up in the lot next to Sheets too. “That alone took 3 of us almost an hour!! People don't use trash cans! They just throw stuff out the window I swear! I picked up at least 18 masks!” Karen’s husband Rob found $20 in that lot!! “It was stuck to something someone threw out! I enjoyed doing this....great exercise! It was nice to meet Dave Baldwin who came to help out, he's a very nice guy.”

“PLEASE DO NOT THROW LITTER OUT YOUR CAR WINDOW. IF YOU HAVE TIRES OR BIGGER ITEMS, CALL THE COMPANY WHO PROVIDES TRASH REMOVAL SERVICES IN YOUR COMMUNITY. IF YOU LIVE IN ROBINSON TOWNSHIP PLEASE CALL WASTE MANAGEMENT. 1-800-866-4460.

Thank you Karen and Bob Crochunis and Dave Baldwin for all your hard work.
