Strong collaboration between Ross Township Fire & Emergency Services and our mutual aid partners contributed to a successful working fire operation early this morning.

Upon arrival, Evergreen members quickly staged and prepared to assist as crews brought the fire under control and extinguished it. Evergreen personnel were subsequently assigned to overhaul operations to help ensure the scene was safe.

We’re proud to work alongside our Ross Township fire companies and our mutual aid partners, whose teamwork, coordination, and commitment to protecting our community make a difference when it matters most.

A coordinated effort to keep our community safe!

Yesterday, as storm systems moved through our area, Ross Township Fire & Emergency Services took a proactive, coordinated approach to emergency response planning. By ensuring adequate emergency service coverage was in place, our teams were prepared to respond when calls for help came in and our residents needed us most.

Effective emergency response starts long before the call comes in. Through teamwork, communication, planning, and collaboration among our emergency service partners, we work together to protect the lives and property of everyone in Ross Township.

As the saying goes, “Forward progress together is success.” When we work together, our entire community benefits.

We are proud of the dedicated first responders and emergency service personnel who remain ready to answer the call, day or night, rain or shine.

One community. One coordinated effort. Always ready to serve.

Just before 10 a.m. today, Ross Township fire companies and mutual aid partners were dispatched to a reported detached garage fire along Grove Avenue in Ross Township.

West View and Berkeley Hills fire companies arrived shortly after dispatch and found an outside fire that had spread to an adjacent detached garage. Crews from all companies quickly extinguished the fire. No members of the public or fire personnel were injured.

During the incident, crews determined that the property where the fire originated was in West View Borough. Command was transferred to West View Fire, and the Allegheny County Fire Marshal is investigating.

Thank you to Ross West View EMSA, Laurel Gardens Volunteer Fire Company, Evergreen Fire Company, Keating Fire Company, Seville Volunteer Fire Company, Berkeley Hills Fire Company, Quaill V.F.D., and West View Volunteer Fire Department for your assistance and teamwork!

While crews handled the incident, fire and life safety education continued with staff at The Glen Montessori School, thanks to Deputy Chief Klein and Perrysville Volunteer Fire Company. Just before the fire, personnel from Quaill V.F.D. also delivered fire prevention training to Highcliff Elementary School.

A busy Friday for Ross Township Fire & Emergency Services

Training Together. Responding Together. Serving Together.

Last evening, members of Evergreen Volunteer Fire Company 246 and Keating FireCompany 252 partnered together for driver training and emergency vehicle operations on our apparatus.

Regular, consistent driver training is an important part of maintaining operational readiness. It helps ensure our members are proficient in the safe operation of our engines, familiar with our equipment, and prepared to meet township standards when responding to emergencies.

When an emergency call comes in, safety and seconds count.

Training like this allows our firefighters and drivers to continually build confidence, sharpen their skills, and work together so we can operate safely and effectively when our community needs us most.

We’re proud to see Evergreen 246 and Keating 252 continuing to train together, learn from one another, and strengthen our emergency response capabilities. We’re looking forward to more opportunities to train together with all Ross Township Fire & Emergency Services companies!

Preparedness starts long before the alarm sounds.

Welcome to the Ross Township Department of Fire & Emergency Services!

Ross Township’s fire service is entering an important new chapter, and this page will be one of the primary ways we keep our community informed along the way.

The Department of Fire & Emergency Services was established to provide township-wide leadership and coordination while working alongside Ross Township’s eight fire companies and fire police organization. As we evaluate our current system and plan for the future, our focus is simple: providing the strongest, safest, and most sustainable fire and emergency services possible for the people of Ross Township.

We want this page to be a resource for our entire community.

Here, you can expect to see:
