Over the weekend, Pittsburgh Water's Public Affairs team was cheering bikers on at the 33rd annual PedalPGH! The event supports Bike Pittsburgh, a nonprofit advocating for safer biking and walking infrastructure. It’s full steam ahead for the ABC Project, a cornerstone of our expansive Water Reliability Plan! This week, we received the first delivery of 84-inch steel piping that will be used in our Clearwell Bypass (the ‘C’ in the ABC Project). Once installed, the Bypass will allow us to take the century-old Clearwell offline for total replacement. The Clearwell, where disinfection takes place, is the final step in our water treatment process, and its eventual replacement will cap off our Water Reliability Plan’s historic infrastructure investments.
