🚒 BIG NEWS FOR WHITEHALL FIRE COMPANY! 🚒

We are proud to announce that Whitehall Fire Company has earned an ISO Class 3 rating, effective February 2027!

This achievement represents a major milestone for our fire company and the community we proudly serve. Of nearly 47,000 fire departments that participate in the PPC program, only 3,826 have an ISO Class 3 rating. This is an important number to know when seeking out homeowners or commercial property insurance.

What is an ISO rating, and why does it matter?

ISO, or the Insurance Services Office, evaluates a community’s fire protection capabilities through its Public Protection Classification (PPC) program. Classifications range from Class 1 to Class 10, with Class 1 representing the highest level of fire protection. Less than 1 percent of all fire protection agencies obtain a class 1.

The evaluation considers several important factors, including firefighter training and staffing, equipment and apparatus, emergency communications, water supply, and fire prevention efforts.

This success did not happen overnight. It took dedication, teamwork, accountability, and a shared commitment to continually improving the services we provide to our community.

We are incredibly proud of the progress our members have made and grateful for everyone who has contributed their time, effort, and expertise along the way. This accomplishment belongs to every member who has played a part in making Whitehall Fire Company stronger.

We would also like to thank our community for its continued trust and support. Your support helps make achievements like this possible.

An ISO Class 3 rating is more than a number. It is a reflection of our commitment to preparedness, continuous improvement, and protecting the lives and property of the people we serve.

As we look ahead to February 2027, we celebrate this milestone while remaining focused on the work that lies ahead. Whitehall Fire Company will continue striving to provide the highest possible level of fire protection to our community.

Earlier today we extinguished a brush fire endangering a structure. Had to get creative on this call as it was up an unpaved private driveway ( Marcus Mountain as we call it ) almost 700 feet off the main road. Thanks to Brentwood Volunteer Fire Company, Station 116 for the assist.

Happy we could help these folks out!

We made some new friends yesterday!

Our chief traveled to Pennsylvania to pickup a donation of 1300ft+ of 5 inch supply hose and various hand tools.

We couldn't thank Whitehall Fire Company, Station 301 enough for their donation. We also want to thank The FD Relief Mission of Western PA for sharing this opportunity.

The hose will be used to upgrade our supply lines on our primary engine to a larger size for better water flow. The tools will be put into service on our engine as some we did not already have.

Tonight five members got together to repack Engine 2’s hosebed with our new hose, getting everything new, organized, and packed to our company standards. Ready for the next call!
