I read an article about this early in the week. The best advice in the article at PA begins notifying 700,000 Medicaid enrollees about new federal requirements for Medicaid: "open your mail".

PA's DHS has published a lot of information to help people get ready for 2027. Keep an eye on dhs.pa.gov/MedicaidChanges and pay attention to any letters you get from DHS in the coming months.

In addition to that information, the guidance from my office:
✔️keep your contact information up to date with DHS
✔️use the online COMPASS application for renewals to make sure paperwork doesn't get lost in the mail
✔️if you need help getting information to DHS, give my office a call to make arrangements. If you don't live in the 132nd district, we'll give you the contact information for your state representative
✔️if you get denial notices or requests for follow up information, work through my office to address those issues

A gentle reminder that pushing through has consequences.

When we override our limits, it often shows up as irritability, emotional exhaustion, and changes in how we relate to the people we care about. Many don’t recognize these signs until burnout is already present.
Rest, self care, and self compassion are not selfish they are essential components of the healing process. It’s a necessary step in supporting emotional regulation, healthy boundaries, and sustainable way of living.
