Last week, County Ambulance joined the Pittsfield Fire Department, Pittsfield Police School Resource Officers, and the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office at Pittsfield High School and Taconic High School to raise awareness about the "100 Deadliest Days"—the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day when teen drivers face the highest risk of serious and fatal motor vehicle crashes.
Through education, discussion, and community partnership, we hope to empower young drivers to make safe choices behind the wheel and understand that every decision matters. We are proud to support this important initiative and remain committed to helping prevent tragedies before they occur.
Thank you to our partners and the students who took the time to engage in these conversations. Together, we can make this summer safer for everyone.

Would you know what to do?

If someone suddenly collapsed…
If they were in cardiac arrest…
If they were choking and could not breathe…

Would you feel ready to help?

In an emergency, the first few minutes matter. CPR and choking relief skills can make the difference between life and death before EMS arrives. You do not have to be a medical professional to save a life — you just need the right training and the confidence to act.

County Ambulance makes CPR training simple and convenient. Our self-paced learning option allows you to complete the online portion on your own schedule, then come in for an in-person review and skills check-off with one of our instructors.

It is an easy, flexible way to learn lifesaving skills that could help a family member, coworker, friend, or even a stranger in need.

Do not wait until an emergency happens to wonder what you would do.

Learn CPR. Be prepared. You may be the help someone needs before help arrives. 🚑

Today is National Senior Health & Fitness Day, a great reminder that staying active is one of the best ways to maintain independence, strength, and quality of life.

At County Ambulance Service, we encourage our older residents to keep moving safely, stay hydrated, take medications as prescribed, and never ignore warning signs like chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden weakness, confusion, dizziness, or symptoms of stroke.

A simple walk, stretching, light exercise, or even regular movement throughout the day can make a big difference — but safety always comes first.

And remember: if something does not feel right, do not wait. Call 9-1-1. Early care can make all the difference.

County Ambulance is proud to serve the seniors of Pittsfield and Berkshire County today and every day. 🚑

Stay active. Stay safe. Stay well.

EMS Week may be over, but our appreciation for our crews never stops.

At County Ambulance, we are incredibly proud of the dedicated EMTs, paramedics, supervisors, dispatchers, mechanics, billing staff, administrative team, and everyone behind the scenes who helps keep our operation moving 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Every call, every shift, every late night, every early morning, every difficult moment, and every act of compassion matters.

To our team: thank you for your hard work, professionalism, and commitment to providing high-quality emergency medical care to the communities we serve. You are the heart of County Ambulance, and we are grateful for everything you do.

EMS Week gives us a chance to recognize you — but your impact is felt every single day. 🚑🧡

As EMS Week comes to a close, we are proud to recognize our Spring EMT Students, who successfully completed their state psychomotor examinations today!

Every student passed their examination, marking our fourth consecutive EMT cohort with a 100% psychomotor pass rate. This class also represents our fourth EMT program offered in partnership with the Workforce Development Office at Berkshire Community College.

Today, these students demonstrated the essential hands-on skills required of future EMTs, including CPR, splinting, spinal motion restriction, and both medical and trauma patient assessments. Their success reflects months of hard work, dedication, practice, and commitment to entering the EMS profession prepared to serve others.

This accomplishment would not be possible without the support of Berkshire Community College, our instructors, teaching assistants, and the friends and families who encouraged these students every step of the way.

To each of our students: congratulations on this outstanding achievement. What an incredible way to celebrate your very first EMS Week. We are proud of you and look forward to seeing where your EMS journeys take you next!

Please join us in congratulating our very own Paramedic Kassidy Thorn on her nursing pinning this evening at Berkshire Community College!

Kassidy has been a valued member of the County Ambulance family for more than 11 years. Throughout her time with us, she has served as a Paramedic, Instructor Coordinator for our EMT program, CPR Instructor, and, most notably, has played a central role in redeveloping the Continuous Quality Improvement process within our Training Department.

Kassidy exemplifies clinical excellence, professionalism, and the importance of lifelong learning. Her commitment to continuing her education reflects not only her drive to grow as a clinician, but also her dedication to improving the care she provides to her patients and the knowledge she shares with her peers.

Over the past two years, Kassidy has skillfully balanced family life, working more than full time, completing her nursing studies, and even beginning her own business venture. Her determination, work ethic, and commitment to bettering herself and those around her are truly admirable.

This evening, several of our employees, alongside Kassidy’s close friends and family, had the honor of watching her receive her nursing pin and celebrate this incredible achievement.

We are incredibly proud of Kassidy and look forward to watching her flourish as a nurse while continuing to bring her skill, compassion, and experience to prehospital care.

Congratulations, Kassidy! Your County Ambulance family is so proud of you!
