Elizabeth Freeman Center's SAFEPLAN team Rises Together with survivors every day in courthouses across Berkshire County as they navigate the legal system in pursuit of safety and justice.
Senior SAFEPLAN Coordinator Carolina explains for survivors not only in September, but all year long:
"We RISE because asking for protection should never mean navigating the process alone.
We RISE to remind survivors that the courtroom does not belong only to attorneys and judges—their voice belongs there too.
We RISE for every survivor who walks through the courthouse doors unsure of what comes next.
We RISE to provide information, support, and advocacy when the next step feels impossible.
We RISE so survivors do not have to stand alone in the very place where they are asking to be protected."
To join EFC in our work to build a violence-free future, head over to ElizabethFreemanCenter.org/RiseTogether and sign up to walk or fundraise (or both!) with us this September. Registration is free, and the walks are open to all ages, so make it a family event! Don't forget to share what gets you walking with the hashtag , and help us make this the biggest Rise Together yet!
