Join us as we celebrate the opening of Pittsfield’s new soccer mini-pitch at Crane Park!

This exciting new addition transforms an underutilized space into a safe, welcoming place for local youth and families to play, connect, and enjoy the game of soccer!

Join us for an official ribbon-cutting celebration featuring remarks from project partners, a ceremonial first kick, and soccer activities with local youth players.

Made possible through a partnership between Massachusetts Youth Soccer, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, the City of Pittsfield, and Mill Town Foundation, this project reflects a shared commitment to expanding recreational opportunities and creating vibrant community spaces.

There’s still time to participate in our 80th annual Halloween Parade happening October 30th! The deadline to apply has been extended to Monday, October 19th so come join us!

Pittsfield Parks & Recreation has announced that the application deadline for the 80th annual Halloween Parade has been extended to Monday, October 19, 2026. The parade will be on Friday, October 30, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tyler Street.

The application packet and additional parade information is available through the Parks & Recreation page on the city’s website under the Halloween tab (www.pittsfieldma.gov/590/Halloween).

It’s going to be a spooky fun time! Join us for “It’s Alive! Kids Zone” with Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. happening this Saturday, October 17th, from 11am-2pm! 👻🎃

The Downtown Pittsfield… It’s Alive! Kids’ Zone will be held on Saturday, October 17, 11 am to 2 pm, on the St. Joseph’s Church lawn. The Kids’ Zone will feature a bounce house, Halloween-themed arts & crafts, games, face painting, balloon twisting, giveaways, a live DJ, and more! All Kids’ Zone activities are free, and costumes are encouraged.
There will be Face Painting and Balloon Twisting by BTC Family Entertainment (Bowey the Clown and Magic Brushes). Balloon twisting will be from 11 am to 12:30 pm only.
DJ Bengey will provide the Halloween party jams, Carr Hardware will provide the Bounce House, and Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. will host a Halloween Paint & Sip activity.
Berkshire Museum will be there with an Ancient Egypt related art activity and Large Dinosaur Bone Blocks for kids to make their own dinosaurs. Scouting America - Western Massachusetts Council will provide supervised range activities including an inflatable archery range with foam-tipped arrows and a backyard tomahawk range.
There will be additional free activities provided by the Berkshire Athenaeum, Berkshire County Head Start, the City of Pittsfield Parks & Recreation Department, and Foster MA/Adopt MA.
Chill Zone Snow Cone Factory will have snow cones available for purchase.
The rain location for the Downtown Pittsfield… It’s Alive! Kids’ Zone will be inside the McKay Street Parking Garage.
Downtown Pittsfield… It’s Alive! is presented by Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. in partnership with Mill Town Foundation, the City of Pittsfield, St. Joseph’s Church, Carr Hardware, and the Feigenbaum Foundation.

It's October and we are excited to announce the dates for Halloween events later this month.

Pittsfield Parks & Recreation will be hosting the Halloween Parade on Friday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m. on Tyler Street.

Trick or Treat will be held on Saturday, October 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
