The Commission on PILOT for State-Owned Land, established by Governor Healey through Executive Order 645, is soliciting feedback on how the state compensates municipalities for state-owned land. The Commission invites input from municipal leaders, residents, and other interested stakeholders. Feedback will inform the Commission’s recommendations. "I never agreed with the idea that we needed to recreate the situation that once existed where the [Berkshire] economy was dependent on a few large employers," BRPC Executive Director Laura Brennan said. "A much healthier approach to revitalization is encouraging a greater number of smaller employers. It's much harder to topple a diverse economy."
