BRPC's Transportation Planning section invites you to two upcoming opportunities to help plan future bicycle and pedestrian paths connecting southern Berkshire County.

BRPC has partnered with engineering firm Weston & Sampson to begin envisioning a Southern Berkshire Bike Path route between Sheffield and Lenox, with the goal to create one continuous, logical route that links town centers across southern Berkshire County with high-quality cycling and walking paths.

Resident input on the data and potential routes collected so far is an important step in the planning process. BRPC is hosting two in-person opportunities to participate in this project. Each town meeting will focus on work in that particular town.

Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting in their hometown, but if a different time or location is more convenient, please attend the opportunity that works best for you.

WHEN: Tuesday, June 9, 4:00pm (Gt. Barrington) and 5:30pm (Sheffield)

It's officially our 60th anniversary! On May 9th, 1966, Commissioner Theodore W. Schulenberg of the MA Department of Commerce and Development formally approved the Berkshire County Regional Planning Commission and its area of jurisdiction. At that time, 10 municipalities had joined, and by the time this brochure was printed a year later, it was up to 17, encompassing over 93% of the population.
