🚨TRAINING UPDATES ‼️🚨

ACADEMY CLASS 26-01:
Please join us in welcoming Public Safety Dispatcher I Trainee Andrew Grygorcewicz to Berkshire RECC and congratulating him on successfully completing the academy portion of his training! PSD-I Trainee Grygorcewicz’s academy consisted of seven weeks of in-house instruction, ride alongs, external certification classes, and numerous written and practical assessments. PSD-I Trainee Grygorcewicz now moves to the field training phase, where he will begin rotating through the different shifts and putting his new found skills to the test. Congratulations, Andrew! We look forward to celebrating your next milestone with you in the coming months! 👏

ACADEMY CLASS 26-02:
Class 26-02 started on Monday June 15th with four trainees, and just completed their first week with us! They will be attending their first certification class in Milford next week.

Yesterday, the MCSA - Massachusetts Communications Supervisors Association held their annual meeting and elections at the Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton.

During the awards ceremony, our very own Operations Manager, Kendra Lagoy, was named the 2026 “Leader of the Year.” She was one of seven highly deserving nominees for this award, and we couldn’t be more proud of everything she has accomplished since joining our team.

The FY2027 PSAP Leadership Scholarship guidelines and application are below. Applications should be completed and emailed to Director of Programs, Monna Wallace with supporting documents attached. The deadline for applying is Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 5:00PM.

Monterey Firefighters are on scene of a Serious Motor Vehicle Collision on Main Road (Route 23) near the 340 block.

Southern Berkshire Ambulance, LIFE STAR helicopter, and Massachusetts State Police are also responding.

Last night, members of Berkshire RECC attended the EMS Committee of Berkshire County’s annual awards banquet where two of our own were recognized.

Public Safety Dispatcher I Chris Merriman was recognized for his meritorious conduct and lifesaving efforts involving a serious ski accident back in February. His quick and efficient pre-arrival instructions and decision to activate air medical prior to units arriving on the scene were crucial in the successful outcome.

Public Safety Dispatcher II Royanne Hammond was recognized as the EMS Communications Specialist of the Year for her continued professionalism, dedication to the profession, and continued efforts in improving service quality and patient outcome in emergency medical dispatching.
