For the past 14 years Bobby England has been managing the Maschoffs Feed Mill in Pittsfield and he wouldn’t want to work anywhere else. The science behind creating a balanced meal for the Maschoffs animals intrigues him and the fact that everyday is something different makes him really enjoy his work. Pike County is known for a lot of great things. Amazing whitetail hunting, great outdoor activities, and agriculture. The John Wood Orr Agriculture Center is a unique agriculture center unlike any other in the US. Through a partnership with the University of Illinois, ag students can not only take gen ed classes, but also get a hands on, in depth look at all aspects of the agriculture industry. Director Jodi Heavner believes “life is a competition and those that are better prepared will WIN” And her students are are among the best prepared students in the US.
