📚💛HAPPY VERMONT LIBRARIES DAY!💛📚
Today, October 19th, marks the very first Vermont Libraries Day! Established through Act 127 of 2026, this new statewide celebration recognizes the incredible role that public, school, and academic libraries play in their communities!
Here at Maclure Library, we're proud to be so much more than a place to borrow books. We're a place to learn, connect, explore, create, and belong. ❤️
📖 Books & Beyond: From the latest bestsellers and beloved classics to audiobooks, DVDs, large-print books, and children's collections, there's something for everyone! Plus, your library card gives you access to thousands of eBooks and audiobooks through Libby and The Palace Project, as well as movies, documentaries, and more through Kanopy — all available to enjoy from the comfort of your own home, completely FREE!
💻 Technology & Accessibility: We offer free public computers, printing and copying services, technology assistance, and FREE Wi-Fi available 24/7 — helping keep our community connected.
🎨 Programs for All Ages: From storytimes, crafts, and summer reading adventures to Cookbook Club, book discussions, educational presentations, and community gatherings, there's always something happening at the Library!
🎟️ Explore Vermont: Our collection of museum and attraction passes helps individuals and families discover wonderful destinations and experiences throughout our state, often at free or reduced admission!
🤝 Community Connections: We're a welcoming space to meet neighbors, discover local resources, share ideas, attend programs, and stay informed about what's happening right here in Pittsford.
❤️ A Place for Everyone: Whether you're a lifelong reader, a student looking for a quiet place to work, a parent bringing your little one to their first storytime, or someone who simply needs a welcoming place to spend an afternoon, our doors are open to YOU!
Libraries are essential community resources. They provide access to information, educational opportunities, technology, entertainment, and human connection — often at little or no cost. And in small towns like ours, that matters more than ever.
🍂 So, on this Vermont Libraries Day, we invite you to stop in and rediscover YOUR Library!
Haven't visited in a while? Come see what's new!
Don't have a library card? We'd love to help you get one!
Have a friend or neighbor who hasn't discovered everything Maclure has to offer? Bring them along!
Your library card opens the door to so much more than books, and we'd love to show you!
To our wonderful patrons, volunteers, staff, trustees, and community supporters: thank you for helping make Maclure Library such a special part of Pittsford.
Happy Vermont Libraries Day from all of us at Maclure Library! 💛📚
