NEPA Announces Public Open House #2 for the PA 611 Corridor Study

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance (NEPA) invites the public to attend a PA 611 Corridor Study Open House #2 on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Pocono Township Municipal Building, 205 Old Mill Road, Tannersville, PA. A formal presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m.

The PA 611 Corridor Study aims to evaluate transportation needs and opportunities along this vital north-south route in Monroe County. The study’s goals are to improve safety, reduce congestion, and support economic growth while preserving the region’s character. This second public open house will focus on sharing proposed roadway and corridor improvement recommendations developed as part of the PA 611 Corridor Study and providing an opportunity for the public to review, ask questions, and offer feedback. The recommendations build upon input received during the first open house and technical analysis conducted throughout the study process.

"We heard from many Monroe County residents at the first public open house and through our online survey," said Kate McMahon, Vice President, Transportation Planning Services. "Now, we want to share what we learned and provide information about the improvements that are proposed for the PA 611 corridor."

🛠️ Pipe & Culvert Installation and Replacement in Action! 🪏

It was a packed session for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) LTAP training course:
Pipe & Culvert Installation and Replacement at the Stroud Twp Building in Monroe County.

Building strong roads starts beneath the surface—mastering pipe and culvert installation makes all the difference. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this training a success!

Big thanks to our instructor, Tim Montag for leading an engaging and informative full-day session. Appreciate the PA State Association of Township Supervisors for organizing another valuable training that continues to support municipalities and transportation professionals across Pennsylvania.

Stay tuned for upcoming courses—more opportunities to learn and grow are on the way. 🔗 https://gis.penndot.gov/ltap/
